We all, or a lot of us talk about coffee. Most are probably very serious. Some are probably not quite as, but still serious. And some are probably very casual drinkers. Nothing wrong with any one of these types. If not loaded with tons of sugar and cream and syrups, coffee is relatively healthy, some roasts, usually medium roasts, have a lot of antioxidants, and it's definitely better for you than loading up on sodas which have no redeeming properties other than to taste good. I love my Mountain Dew and my Coke (with peanuts of course...it's a Southern redneck thing) as much as the next guy, so...don't think I'm hating on the sodas. Just stating a fact.
So, enjoy the little coffee cartoons with your morning, afternoon, evening, late night, middle of the night coffee.

This one makes me things of so many people that I follow on Twitter and Facebook...grinsI make a lot of coffee at home. I had the espresso machine and if any of you have paid attention to my Twitter/Facebook posts, you'll see that my espresso machine broke. It was a devastating day. I replaced it the other night with an inexpensive French press from Starbucks. I love this thing! I buy whole bean and have a grinder for it. The smell of freshly ground coffee is heaven, almost better than chocolate. I know, shoot me. It's okay...laughs.
I have the syrups, too. I love creating the coffee shop coffee drinks at home. The cost is much less and the whole playing with recipes is fun for me. I do this with my baking, too. And my cooking. Does that make strange? No, don't answer that.

I'd change that Caramel Cappuccino, but, the sentiment is the same...
As you can see, I didn't have much to write about today. NaNoWriMo is sucking the life out of me at the moment. Or, maybe it's the edits. Could be the fact that I'm sick. But, it's probably that the holidays are being forced upon me before I'm even slightly ready for them, thereby driving me to drink...more coffee. I took my daughter to her usual Wednesday night hang-out and no lie, the town has put Christmas decorations up on the streets already. *headdesk*

I love the little dragon. He's so cute.
And for those that don't do coffee...

Have a good Thursday! By the way, I've signed a contract for my second Ellora's Cave book, an Exotika titled Simple Need. I've also signed a contract for my second Loose Id book, currently titled Driving Lily but it will be getting a new name soon... So...SQUEE!

Coffee. All right, I'll admit it, I'm a coffee snob. I grind my own beans, Guatemala/Antigua, sometimes some Java - the island - Kenya AA or if I can find peaberries. So now you know how big a snob I am, until I dump the french vanilla creamer in it and listen to the purists shriek. LOL Now that there's funny, I don't care who you are!
The smell of fresh ground coffee is almost as good as sex! Almost.
For a little shameless self-promotion, my very first book, Night Moves, comes out tomorrow at Ellora's Cave!
There's no coffee in it (sigh), but there are two sexy vampires (perking up) Okay, yeah, I know, bad pun.
Congrats on the new contracts! I sat here drinking my coffee while I read your post. *BG* My husband came home a couple of years ago with this ridiculously huge and expensive espresso machine. I was like, "Are you crazy?" His parents are European so he grew up on espresso. Now I'm the one who uses it the most and I go into a decline if there's something wrong with it. lol
Fat Free Hazelnut Coffee Mate. I can't live without it.
Congrats on the new release, V.J.! Welcome to the Cave.
We spend our time at the "Buck" as well.
Congratz on the new contracts! You go girl.
Mmmmmmh .... sex in a cup, almost as good as sex and then the pics! Now I'm distracted *grins*
Ah yes, I wanted to write about coffee. I do love coffee, always have, always will. I grind my beans too, have an espresso machine, a coffee machine and a French press as well. But then there came a time a few weeks ago, I was drinking so much of it that I couldn't really enjoy it anymore. And it started making me edgy. I want to go back to relish my coffee again. So my plan now is to drink less in favor of more tea and hot chocolate. Hot chocolate I'm drinking anyway this time of the year. Yummy! And I used to drink much more tea years ago. I got back to drinking tea when I had lots of colds in the last months. Now I'm giving different sorts a shot and really like it so far. But coffee will always be my first love!
I love coffee. Espresso drinks more than straight coffee. I'm not one that one that can taste a lot of differences in the coffee, just as I'm not one that can pick out the taste of oak in a glass of wine. I just know if I like it or not. I'm not a snob, but VJ, you go girl on that coffee snobbishness...grins. BTW, welcome to Ellora's Cave. I remember hearing about your book in a chat last week...am looking forward to it.
I do understand going through the decline if something is wrong with the espresso machine, Sam. I was in near tears when mine stopped working. Now, it's not ridiculously huge and it was in no way expensive, but, I loved it just the same!
And yes, what would we all do without the coffee creamers?!? Do y'all use powdered creamer or the liquid creamer? I use the liquid, either french vanilla or seasonal special ones. I saw a vanilla spiced rum creamer yesterday...grins
Mari, I had a dream last night about 'the Bucks'. I ordered a grande caramel iced latte. By the time I got done, it had cost me $20 cause they charged extra on the ice, the caramel, the extra shot of espresso, etc... I set it down on the counter to put the change in my purse and when I looked back up, it was gone, tossed out cause they thought I was done. $20 down the drain. You think it's a sign? LOL...
Selene, I do understand what you mean about trying to get back to deep intense love of something. I like what you're doing with the tea and hot chocolate. I do that, too. Especially in winter and early spring. I love teas. And I use agave syrup or honey and, yum. Hot chocolate is a must during winter as well. And not the instant packet HC either. At least for me. I buy the ghiradelli double chocolate in the canister and use milk and well, now I'm gonna have to learn to make marshmallows since Trader Joe's isn't selling the vanilla ones anymore.
It's easy to lose our taste for something if we over indulge it and then when we take a break for a bit, it's fabulous when we come back. Excellent point!
Now, where'd I put my cup!
