We here at Kiss and Tell are celebrating our first birthday! And because we write about romance and love and sex I thought it would be a fun topic to discuss…first loves, first sex…
My daughter has her first real boyfriend. He’s a sweet guy, I’ve met his parents, he’s been to our house and my daughter has been to his. He’s very protective of her, dotes on her, showers her with affection, makes her laugh, sings to her, and calls her his Aphrodite. She blushes when she never ever shows emotion like that and I am seeing a side of her that makes me grin.
So, who was your first love? Who is the first boy or girl that you remember that caught your attention? Mine, his name was Derek and we were in the same first grade class together…Mrs. Evans class. He had dark hair and dark skin and we were completely inseparable.
My first serious love was Scott. We met when I was 14 at a Valentine’s Dance at a teen club. They were handing out half-hearts that night to people that came without a date. The halves each had numbers on them and at a certain part of the night, they were going to have everyone meet out on the dance floor to pair up for a slow dance. Well, my friend and I showed up after Scott and his friends (no we didn’t know one another) and he saw me. He was able to get my friend away from me and found out what number was my half of the heart and went in search of the other half. It was a very sweet romantic gesture. We dated on and off for about 6 years and we call him Prom Date because well…we went to three proms together. We are still friends after all these years.
There are many firsts in our lives…loves, sex, straight A’s, books, marriage, kids, etc… And since we are celebrating our first birthday, I thought I’d take everyone down memory lane and ask you to share one of your memorable firsts…
So, who is going to go first?
My first boy sex was Brian.
My first girl sex was April.
My first child was born in May, 15 years ago.
My first concert was Duran Duran when I was 14.
My first drink was at 18 after Senior Prom.
My first sex toy was a vibrator about 8 years ago.
My first book was Educating Rose.
Now, it’s time for one of you to share…anything at all that you want.

Wonderful! I love firsts!
Here's my (chronological) list of memorable or not so happy firsts:
first A: 1980 (Wow, what a feeling! Made me become an eager beaver)
first story I wrote: 1980 (complete with pictures! ;-) )
first F: 1989 (I'd have liked it to be my only one, alas there were 4 more later in my life)
first sex: 1989 (obviously my priority had changed from studying to other stuff then - thank goodness I got that under control eventually)
first cut: 2007 (well, maybe not really the first cut, but definitely the deepest)
first check for a book: 2009 (I hope there'll be plenty more!)
first car: 2009 (my very own, not someone else's)
laughs...that's excellent, Barbra! That first check for a book is a pretty damned exciting thing! And I can't wait to get another car that is mine and mine alone that I pick out...
