Taming Him (like those two guys with the cats. What are their names again?)

So, I'm sorry this wasn't up earlier. My internet was down all weekend, I only got it back last night, and I'm still playing catch-up. So this will be short and sweet.

I'm bringing us back to the video today. I just want to talk about what elements of the video I found appealing.

Now Michelle Pillow is a promo goddess, so I'm sure if she stops by she can tell us how book trailers work for her as effective promo. That would be great. But she also made the video, and I think it's pretty spiffy. See, goddess, right?

Anyway, here's Taming Him.

Visually, this worked for me. The black and white images, the simplicity of the images, the font, the way it scrolls across the screen at the beginning, and pops in and out throughout. The words are punchy, boom, boom, boom, and are simple, like the pictures. But the whole thing packs a punch because of one unifying factor here, IMHO, the music. The music is exotic, catchy, punchy. The images and words reflect that. I just think it's a great package that describes the anthology in simple terms. There's an assumption here that whoever is viewing this will be able to figure out it's steamy romance, and I think that's alright. Because the video makes that clear.

I like the length on this video, too. It's goes just past too short, you know what I mean? It grabs my attention, holds it, holds it, whew, okay, let go. And that's what I wanted. I almost need a cigarette. Okay, maybe I liked it too much. That's allowed on Trailer Park Tuesdays, right? Right?!

Hi Sam!
Thanks for checking out the videos, so glad you like it. :)

Goddess? lol *scrambling for tutu and princess crown* Oh, ok, ready.

And now the tutu and princess crown will become The Thing because it will be all over the web, and you will start to sell little crowns with Michelle Pillow on them, and people will say "She is such a promo goddess! I love her!" You wait and see.

And yes, I may have liked your video. A bit. I'm going to watch it again. Where are my smokes?

I like the video. It's short, sweet (sexy), and to the point. Just how I like them, when I like them. It's classy, not flashy and not over the top. I would be influenced to learn more about the authors and the books...

*big starry eyes* I'm a trend setter? *rubbing hands together* Tulle~Everyone must wear yards and yards of tulle!

Hi Lissa, thanks for the kind comment. :)

Long live Tulle!!

Every Goddess needs scads of it. I keep it in tucked in the nightstand in case of emergency. *wink*

I agree with everything Sam said, but, the first thing that stood out for me was the tempo of the music. It’s well used to move the video and the heart rate of the viewer (right along with the man flesh photos!).

We have another winner…
Great pick Sam! And Ms Pillow, I love this as much as your work. I am so envious of your Promo- Ho- Goddess status. We bow...

Um, I don't know what tulle is. Some kind of fancy dress material, right? Must polish up on girly girl talk . . .

Lissa ~ yes, short and sweet, but sexy. And I think the black and white scheme cranks up the classy factor.

Mari ~ Yep, it's the music that makes it. It ties the whole thing together beautifully.

*kisses up to the promo ho's and goddesses and digs out the yards of tulle stuffed in the closet...purple or blue anyone?*

I liked the video as well. I thought the music was good - had a nice tempo. The promo gave me just enough info that I'm interested in reading the anthology even though I've read Fever by KD (hot!).

Great job MP - and great choice Sam!

Fever is hot! I liked all the stories in this anthology, although that's not why I picked the video. I picked the video on its own merits.

MP, if you're still out there, where did you get the music? It seems to be the one factor that really made the video work.
